Kakad Aarati

Kakad aarati is performed in Sai Baba Samadhi temple, Shirdi every day at 5.15 am in the morning. It is also performed at similar local time across the world in various sai-baba temples. It consist of singing of various verses while waving of oil candle flame in front of Sai Baba's Idol/ Photo. The verses were compiled by initial sai devotees during the life time of Sai Baba. The verses include both the traditional verses composed by various saints of Maharashtra and also the verses composed by initial devotees of Sai Baba (d. 1918 at approximate age of 80 years). The Kakad aarati consists of following verses :
  1. Joduniya Kara (by Saint Tuka Ram, 1598-1649, in marathi)
  2. Utha Panduranga (by Saint Jana Bai, d. 1350 , in marathi)
  3. Utha Utha (by Sai devotee, K.J. Bhishma, in marathi)
  4. Darshan Dhya (by Saint Nam Dev, 1270-1350, in marathi)
  5. Panch Aarati (by Sai devotee, K.J. Bhishma, in marathi)
  6. Chinmaya Roop (by Sai devotee, K.J. Bhishma, in marathi)
  7. Pandhari Naathaa (by Saint Tuka Ram, 1598-1649, in marathi)
  8. Utha Utha (by Saint Nam Dev, 1270-1350, in marathi)
  9. Sai Natha Guru Majhe Aayi (traditional, in marathi)
  10. Shri Sai Natha Prabhat Aashtak (by Sai devotee, K.J. Bhishma, in marathi)
  11. Strag Dhara (by Sai devotee, K.J. Bhishma, in marathi)
  12. Rehama Nazar (by Sai devotee, Dasa Ganu, in hindi)
