साई आरतियों के लाभ

श्री साई बाबा की आरती के माध्यम से जब भक्त अपने इष्टदेव या सदगुरु के सगुण रूप की भक्तिभाव से उपासना करता है तो, इष्टदेव या सद् गुरु और भक्त के बीच एक अंतरंग भाव -- सम्बंध स्थापित हो जाता है और वह उनकी उपस्थिति अपने हृदय में महसूस कर पाता है।

Utha Pandu Ranga

This is the translation of second verse in the kakad aarati of Sai Baba -- Utha Panduranga. It has been composed in bhakti rasa by famous 14 century poet saint of Maharashtra, Janabai (d. 1350).

1. Oh Lord Vithala (Vishnu's Avatar/ incarnation), please wake-up ! as its morning time. A large gathering of vaishnava devotees has already assembled at the 'garuda platform' of your temple to have your holy glimpse.
2. Right from the 'garuda platform' and upto the temple's main gate the demi-gods are standing with folded hands and awaiting to have your holy glimpse.
3. This gathering of demi-gods include the your most ardent and worthy devotees like -- Sanaka, Narada and Tumbara. The Lord of the Mountains -- 'Shiva', is also standing here along with his trishul (trident) and damru (hour glass shaped drum).
4. The most worthy devotee of present age -- Nama Dev is singing in your praise. Right behind him Jani is standing absorbed in overflowing emotions for you.

Joduniya Kara

Following is the translation of the Joduniya Kara, the first verse in the kakad aarati. It has been composed by Saint Tuka Ram (1598-1649) in marathi.

1. With folded hands I place my forehead at your feat. O holy teacher please listen to my request.
2. Whether I may or may not have the appropriate mental attitude towards you for the purpose, but even then I have come to your refuge. Oh holy teacher please place your blessing giving glance on me.
3. May I always remain at your feet, this is my request to you. Therefore, without hesitation please give me a small place in your refuge.
4. Tuka Ram says, with whichever inappropriate way may I call you, oh lord ! with your hands please break my worldly bondages.

Kakad Aarati

Kakad aarati is performed in Sai Baba Samadhi temple, Shirdi every day at 5.15 am in the morning. It is also performed at similar local time across the world in various sai-baba temples. It consist of singing of various verses while waving of oil candle flame in front of Sai Baba's Idol/ Photo. The verses were compiled by initial sai devotees during the life time of Sai Baba. The verses include both the traditional verses composed by various saints of Maharashtra and also the verses composed by initial devotees of Sai Baba (d. 1918 at approximate age of 80 years). The Kakad aarati consists of following verses :
